Harlan County’s Brittleigh Estep connected on a pitch in action earlier this season. The 6-6 Lady Bears return to action Tuesday at home against South Laurel.

Harlan County dropped four of five games during a spring break trip to the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Lady Bears’ win came against Russell as freshman first baseman Halanah Shepherd pounded out three hits and drove in two runs in a 12-7 victory. Josalyn Lee and Hailey Austin added two hits each. Rylie Maggard added a triple. Jade Burton, Brittleigh Estep, Jenna Wilson and Madison Blair added one hit each.
Blair earned the win in the circle as she gave up seven runs (three earned) on eight hits, with three strikeouts and one walk.
Shepherd, Blair, Lesleigh Brown, Estep and Wilson had hits in the Lady Bears’ 13-1 loss to Lawrence County. Blair struck out three and walked as she pitched a complete game.
Wilson, Austin and Brown had hits for HCHS in a 16-1 loss to Ashland Blaze. Estep, Shepherd and Blair shared pitching duties.
Harlan County fell 6-5 to Cardinal O’Hara, Pennsylvania, and 14-1 to Saugerties, N.Y., in action Wednesday to close the tournament. No statstics were available on either game.
The 6-6 Lady Bears play host to South Laurel on Tuesday.

Harlan lost 18-3 in four innings Monday at Leslie County.
Ella Farley and Ella Lisenbee led the Lady Dragons with a double and single each. Addison Jackson added a double. Ava Nunez had a single.
Mallory McNiel gave up one run on three hits. Lisenbee gave up 13 runs (nine earned) on three hits, with 13 walks and one strikeout, in three innings. Jackson recorded two outs, giving up four runs (two earned) on two hits with no strikeouts or walks.
The 1-8 Lady Dragons play host to Knox Central on Friday.
