Evarts Bradon Middleton tried to get around New Harlan’s Landon Brock in fifth- and sixth-grade football action Thursday.

New Harlan ran its record to 6-0, breaking open a close game with two touchdowns in the second half on the way to a 24-6 win Thursday over visiting Evarts in fifth- and sixth-grade football action.
Brayden Morris ran for 123 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. Colton Delaney added 42 yards on eight carries with a two-point conversion. Cole Cornett had 57 yards on three carries. Landon Brock ran for 15 yards on two carries and completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Brady Smith and a two-point conversion pass to Colby Shepherd.
Morris led the New Harlan defense with six tackles. Hunter Moore and Tyler Coots added five tackles each. Smith had four tackles. Isaiah Baker added three tackles.
New Harlan returns to action Thursday at Cumberland.

Harlan County fell 32-22 on Tuesday at Bell County in seventh- and eighth-grade football action.
Both Harlan County teams return to action Saturday in the state playoffs at North Laurel. The seventh-grade game will start at 11 a.m., with the eighth-grade game to follow.
