Facing some of the state’s best teams, the Harlan County Black Bears and all-state guard Trent Noah more than held their own in the King of the Bluegrass tournament at Fairdale, finishing 2-2 while improving to 7-3 on the season. Noah averaged 21 points a game in the tournament, earning the Bears’ first selection this season as the Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week. Noah scored 22 points against Lyon County and Travis Perry in a showdown of the state’s top two juniors. Noah scored 28 in a win over Fairdale and 14 as the Bears downed defending 7th Region champ Male. Noah finished with 20 points as the Bears fell to Trinity in the consolation bracket finals.
