Hensley, daughter of former JACHS star, leads Madison Central past Harlan

Madison Central forward Bailey Hensley scored 17 points on Wednesday in a 67-35 win over Harlan in the Berea Holiday Classic.

Harlan’s two-game win streak came to an end Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Berea Holiday Classic as a strong defensive effort send Madison Central in the semifinals with a 67-35 win over the Lady Dragons.
Madison Central was led junior forward Bailey Hensley, the daughter of former Cawood three-sport standout David Hensley, with a 17-point, eight-rebound effort. Sophomore forward Nataya Strader added 14 points for the 9-2 Lady Indians.
The 4-6 Lady Dragons were led by sophomore guard Kylie Noe with 14 points.
Harlan was limited to only nine points in each of the first two quarters and trailed 37-18 at halftime. The Lady Dragons were held scoreless in the third quarter, missing all eight shots from the field, as Central took a 53-18 lead into the final period.
Harlan will play its final game of the tournament against Floyd Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday in the consolation bracket. Madison Central will play Corbin at 12:45 p.m. in the semifinals.
