Corbin, North roll into regional finals

North Laurel and Corbin each rolled past their semifinal opponents on Saturday to earn a spot in the 13th Region Tournament championship game Monday. North Laurel downed South Laurel 63-43 and Corbin coasted past Barbourville 58-34.
Senior guard Reed Sheppard had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Jaguars. Ryan Davidson and Gavin Chadwell added 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Jordan Mabe scored 14 and Eli Gover added 12 to lead the Cardinals.
Corbin outscored Barbourville 14-4 in the second quarter to take control against the Tigers. Senior guard Hayden Llewellyn paced the Hounds with 22 points.
K.T. Turner, a senior center, led Barbourville with 13 points.
