Dixon fans 16 as Lady Panthers walk their way to win at Harlan

Addison Jackson had three hits in Harlan’s season-opening 8-4 loss to Cumberland Gap, Tenn., on Thursday.

Cumberland Gap pitcher Kerry Dixon worked around 10 hits by fanning 16 Lady Dragons on Thursday as the visiting Lady Panthers scored the game’s first eight runs by capitalizing on 13 walks on the way to an 8-4 victory.
Sophomore catcher Addison Jackson led the Harlan offense with two doubles and a single with three RBI. Ella Farley added a double and single. Ella Lisenbee singled twice. Annie Hoskins, Kendyll Blanton and Mallory McNiel added one single each.
McNiel started in the circle for Harlan and gave up four runs on two hits in 2 1/3 innings, with eight walks. Lisenbee allowed four runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings, with three strikeouts and five walks.
