While the Harlan Lady Dragons have started slowly this season with several key players out with injuries, sophomore outfielder Ava Nunez has contributed in a big way with her bat and glove. She had a double, two singles and three RBI, along with a run-saving catch in left field, in the Lady Dragons’ district loss to Middlesboro, earning Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week honors, Nunez also had a hit on Monday in the Lady Dragons’ loss to Leslie County and is hitting .300 on the season through nine games.
