Harlan County’s Casolari finishes fifth in Junior PGA event at Gibson Bay

Harlan County sophomore Brayden Casolari placed fifth in the Junior PGA championship Kentucky Sectional Event at Gibson Bay last week.

One of the state’s top young golfers, Harlan County sophomore Brayden Casolari has a busy summer planned after competing in 11 events in the spring, including three national level AJGA tournaments around the southeastern part of the United States with three top 10 finishes and five others in the top 20. He has five more events set for this summer, beginning in Ashland, followed by trips to Boardman, Ohio; Fredericksburg Va.; Robinson, Illinois and York, Pennsylvania.
He competed last week in the Golf Week Junior Tour Championship on the links at Kearney Hills in Lexington, finishing 13th in the three-day, 54-hole event with a solid four over par score of 220. After one day of rest, he was back at in the Junior PGA championship Kentucky Sectional Event at Gibson Bay, bringing home a fifth-place finish, shooting a total of seven over par (151) for the two-day event.
