Harlan All Stars finish fourth in District 4 tourney by splitting four games

The Harlan All Stars placed fourth in the District 4 Tournament (ages 11-12) last week at South Laurel.
Harlan fell 11-5 to South Laurel in the winners bracket semifinals after defeating Knox County in the opening round.
Harmonee Mills led the Harlan offense with two singles. Jordyn Smith had a double. Taylor Glenn, Bella Miniard and Shaedyn Crow added one single each.
Smith pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and seven walks.
Harlan bounced back with a 5-2 win over Hazard/Perry as Adelynn Burkhart pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts and four walks. Smith led the offense with a two-run triple. Addyson Patton also had a triple. Miniard added a double. Glenn, Burgan, Mills and Crow added one single each.
Harlan was eliminated with a 5-4 loss to Leslie County. Burgan struck out seven and walked four while giving up four hits. Patton led the offense with a double and single. Glenn, Miniard and Smith added singles.
Harlan rolled past Knox County 9-3 to open the tournament.
Smith led the Harlan offense with a three-run inside-the-park homer. Miniard and Burgan had two singles each. Glenn, Daria Lee and Patton added one single each.
Burgan pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks.
