With six years of experience at Harlan County High School and four at Lincoln Memorial University, cheerleading has been a huge part of Rhileigh Alred’s life for about as long as she can remember.
She will take those cheerleading skills and experience to a new level after being named the director of spirit programs at Lincoln Memorial University. Alred brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her position, according to a press release Wednesday from LMU. She holds a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art 2D from Lincoln Memorial University, graduating in 2023, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in teaching at the University of the Cumberlands. Her dedication to both academics and the arts will contribute to her success in this leadership role, according to the press release.
“God is so good,” Alred said. “I am so thankful for this opportunity and so excited to begin this season.”
“We are excited about Rhileigh’s appointment as our new Director of Spirit Programs at LMU. As a recent graduate of LMU, she provides a sense of familiarity and trust with our current student-athletes. She possesses great potential as a Spirit Program Director, in large part because of her integrity, professionalism, organizational capacity, and cheerleading IQ. We are confident she will provide a high-quality experience for our student-athletes,” said Jody Goins, the LMU executive vice president for administration.
