Two of eastern Kentucky’s top high school golfers last year each finished in the top five on Sunday in the annual Lynch Invitational Tournament.
Gavin Clutts, a 2023 Hazard graduate, won the tournament with a two-day total of 124, one stroke ahead of Matt Gann. Harlan County High School sophomore Brayden Casolari tied for third with Andrew Forester and Pete Cornett Jr. with identical scores of 130.
Jerry Garris won the senior division with a 126, seven strokes ahead of Rainbo Johnson. Leon Johnson was third with a 133.
Jared Cornett was the winner in the first flight. Joe Eldridge and Daniel Hartford tied for second.
Jon Simpson won the second flight. Glen Miracle and Dave Hill tied for second.
Jeff Ely was the winner in the third flight, with Pete Cornett Sr. taking second and Brooks Jones placing third.
