Four local students compete in All Ripken Games
James A. Cawood Elementary School fifth graders Brylee Southerland and Seth Johnson and sixth grader Logan Mills were recently chosen to participate in the All Ripken Games.
Southerland and Johnson will be playing with the 2031 graduating class and Mills will be playing with the 2030 graduating class.
The All-Ripken Games include some of the best individual players across the country competing in a true big league experience filled with lifelong memories.
The boys participate in Harlan Little League. Mills is also a member of the Harlan County middle school team.

Cumberland Elementary School fourth grader Hutton Sherman was chosen for the All Ripken Games. He participated last weekend in Elizabethtown.
Hutton played with the 2032 graduating class.
Clem powers Lady Cats to victory at Bell County
Led by 23 points from Reagan Clem, Rosspoint claimed a 54-27 win Tuesday at Bell County in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action. Jaycee Simpson and Jaylee Cochran added 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Rosspoint won 42-18 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Taylynn Napier scored 21 for the Lady Cats.

Madison Johnson poured in 22 points to lead Pineville in a 34-26 win Monday over Black Mountain in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Kelsie Middleton led the Tigerettes with 10 points.
Mya Roundtree scored six as Pineville won 20-16 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Bella Wright paced Black Mountain with nine points.

Harlan stayed perfect on the young season, improving to 5-0 with a 40-11 win Monday at W.B. Muncy in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball
The Lady Dragons rolled to a 31-9 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Jerrah Phillips and Adelynn Burgan scored 10 for Harlan.
Khloe Daniels and Addison Sanford each scored eight points as Harlan won 34-6 in third- and fourth-grade action.

Barbourville hands Lady Dragons first losses of season
Harlan suffered its first loss of the season in both the seventh- and eighth-grade and fifth- and sixth-grade levels on Tuesday against visiting Barbourville.
Macy Hoskins scored 10 and Bailee Branstutter added eight as the Lady Tigers won 36-32 in seventh- and eighth-grade action.
Addison Campbell and Peyshaunce Wynn each scored 14 for the 5-1 Lady Dragons.
Izzy Mills led Barbourville to a 24-9 rout in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Harlan fell to 5-1.
Khloe Daniels scored 10 and Lilly Daniels added eight as Harlan won 32-14 in third- and fourth-grade action.
