Harlan County senior Taylor Clem made history Monday as the Lady Bears rolled to a 10-0 win at Knox Central.
Clem set a school record with five assists as part of a seven-point night that also included one goal.“The other coaches and I are extremely proud of the girls for their performance at Knox. We moved a lot of people around into positions they don’t usually play and it ended up leading to a record breaking night for us. Taylor Clem, who usually plays on the defensive line, excelled as a midfielder and striker last night. She scored her first ever goal while also breaking the team record for most assists in a single game,” Harlan County coach Hannah Pittman said. “Kadence and Willow also embraced new positions, with each of them scoring their first ever goals as well.”
Callie Smith led the Lady Bears in goals with five. Holly Wright added two goals. Willow Peace and Kadence Millis also had one goal each.
Peace had two assists, while Aliya Burkhart added one.
Madison Miles didn’t allow any goals as the goalkeeper for the 4-3 Lady Bears, who travel to Middlesboro on Tuesday and Perry Central on Thursday to close the regular season.
