Harlan County closes its regular-season schedule at 6-3 with a 28-6 win Tuesday at Bell County in eighth-grade football action.
Brayden Morris had another big game for the Bears with two touchdowns on the ground, including a 50-yard run in the opening quarter.
Braydon Howard teamed with Brady Smith for a touchdown in the second quarter for a 12-0 lead. Bell scored to cut the deficit to 12-6 at halftime.
Morris teamed with Smith for a 25-yard TD pass in the third quarter. Howard threw to Thyler Coots for the two-point conversion and a. 20-6 lead.
Morris added a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, then Sam Carr went in for the two-point conversion.
Harlan County will return to action on Oct. 12 in the state playoffs.
“It’s always good to win at Bell and give these eighth graders a little bragging rights,” Harlan County coach Scott Caldwell said. “They are our nearest rival. Our regular season is over. All three of our teams have worked very hard this season and I expect all three to represent Harlan County well in the state playoffs.”

Bell County won a 52-44 shootout in the sixth-grade game.
Hudson Faulkner and Caysen Farley scored touchdowns for the Bears.

Harlan County running back Brayden Morris scored two touchdowns Tuesday in the Black Bears’ 26-8 win at Bell County in eighth-grade action. Bell won in the seventh-grade game.
