Jones holds single-game region record with 68 points

Harlan all-stater Wallace “Wah Wah” Jones still holds Harlan County and 13th Region records for most points in one game with 68 against Artemus on Nov. 30, 1943. Jones helped lead Harlan to the 1944 state title later that season. Jones graduated from Harlan in 1945 and went on to play for the University of Kentucky.
Cumberland’s Mike Granato reportedly scored 63 points in a game in 1963. Cawood’s Nick Sanford scored 56 points against Fleming-Neon as a junior during the 1985 season. Evarts’ Chris Wilson scored in a 106-69 win over Riverside Christian.
