In a preseason showdown matching two of the 13th Region’s top five teams, Corbin edged visiting Bell County 62-61 on Tuesday.
Kylie Clem and Raegan Walker each scored 14 points and Darcie Anderson added 13 for the Lady Hounds.
Gracie Jo Wilder paced the Lady Cats with 34 points. Kairi Lamb and Lauren McGeorge added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
“It was a good second scrimmage for our team. Corbin is one of the better teams in the 13th Region, and I felt we competed well for the most part,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “We did a lot of good things on both ends of the floor. As a team, we still got areas to get better, but that’s the good thing about scrimmages. It gives you a chance early to see how players respond in game situations.”
Bell County opens its regular-season schedule on Dec. 1 at home against Knoxville (Tenn.) Ambassadors.
