Bell County swept a doubleheader from the Knoxville (Tenn.) Ambassadors on Friday, winning 66-29 in the girls game and 91-54 in boys action.
Senior forward Gracie Jo Wilder scored 24 points to lead the Lady Cats. Lauren McGeorge added 18 points.
“It was good to get the first win of the season. I thought the girls did a good job of trying to focus on the things we’ve discussed the last couple of days in practice,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “Also, it was good to get a chance to play a lot of players and get the younger girls some experience in a varsity game. “
Three Bobcats topped the 20-point mark to complete the sweep at Jaxon Thomas poured in 23, followed by Cameron Hall with 22 and Ethan Buell with 21.
The Lady Cats play at Clay County on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be in action on Friday at home against Tri-Cities Christian, Tenn.
