James A. Cawood and Rosspoint advanced to the semifinals of the seventh- and eighth-grade county tournament with first-round victories Tuesday at JACES.
Win Cooper and Thyler Coots each scored 10 points as the Trojans defeated Green Hills 45-10.
Jax Shepherd paced the Falcons with eight points.
Hayston Hensley scored 13 points as Rosspoint coasted past Wallins 44-19.
Ryan Day led the Purple Devils with 10 points.
The tournament continues Friday with Evarts playing Cumberland at 5:30 and Cawood taking on Black Mountain at 6:30.
The semifinals are set for Tuesday at JACES with the consolation and championship games Thursday at Harlan County High School.
