Harlan County and Harlan each suffered losses Monday on the road against two of eastern Kentucky’s top teams. The Lady Dragons fell 56-31 at North Laurel and the Lady Bears lost 62-44 at Knott Central.
Brooke Nichelson scored 16 points and Gracie McKnight added 12 to lead the Lady Jaguars.
Harlan (12-9) was led be Aymanni Wynn with 17 points and Kylie Noe with 10.
The Lady Dragons return to action Friday at Middlesboro in a girls/boys district doubleheader.
Harlan County (12-10) was led by Ella Karst with 23 points in the loss at Knott.
Akasia Bentley scored 19 and Kaylee Gibson added 16 for the Lady Patriots.
Harlan County won 40-26 in junior varsity action as Kylee Runions led the 8-1 Lady Bears with 12 points. Lacey Robinson scored nine, followed by Jaycee Simpson with eight, Whitney Noe with six and Jaylee Cochran with five.
Bella Hammond led Knott with five points.
The Lady Bears return to action Friday at home against Letcher Central.
