Led by a 40-point, 20-rebound performance from senior center Gavin Chadwell, Knox Central defeated visiting Harlan 68-58 on Tuesday.
Knox Central broke a 16-16 tie after one period by outscoring the Dragons 23-11 in the second quarter.
Senior guard Braydon Mills added 17 points for the 17-8 Panthers.
Kyler McLendon, a senior guard, scored 34 points to lead the 6-17 Dragons. Trent Cole added 13 points.
Harlan plays at South Laurel on Saturday. Knox Central plays at Jackson County on Friday.

Knox Central won 54-42 in junior varsity action as Evan Hubbard scored 17 and Luke Olmstead added 14 for the Panthers.
Jaxson Perry led the 0-6 Dragons with 10 points. Izack Saylor and Caden Mefford each tossed in seven. Eric Evans added six. Eli Noe tossed in four. Will Shepherd and Dylan Collins each scored three.
