A whopping 46-24 advantage on the boards told the story Thursday in the final opening-round game in the 13th Region Tournament at The Corbin Arena as Clay County used the big advantage on the glass to get 23 more shots on the way to an 80-50 rout of PIneville.
Senior center Elijah Bundy and senior forward Hayden Harris each scored 17 points to lead the 24-8 Tigers, who have won 15 straight games. Adon Grubb added 11 points and nine rebounds. Ethan Jackson and Aiden Wagers each chipped in with 10 points.
Junior guards Sawyer Thompson and Ashton Moser carried the Pineville offense with 22 and 19 points, respectively.
The Lions shot only 29 percent (15 of 47) from the field and 14 percent (two of 14) on 3-point attempts.
Pineville ended the season with a record of 20-11.
