Burgan pitches 4-hitter as Lady Dragons blank Middlesboro

Adelynn Burgan tossed a shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks as Harlan coasted to a 16-0 win Tuesday at Middlesboro in middle school softball action.
Shaedyn Crow led the Harlan offense with two singles. Lacey Lemur and Addyson Patton added doubles. Taylor Glenn, Daria Lee and Harmonee Mills each added singles.
Harlan fell 8-6 to Leslie County. Crow and Mills each added singles. Burgan pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Harlan will play at Lynn Camp on Friday and host the regional All “A” Classic over the weekend.

Fields fans 11 and Miniard drives in four as Lady Bears rout KC
Harlan County went on the road to roll past Knox Central 22-5 on Monday and edge Bell County 12-11 on Tuesday in middle school softball action.
Maddy Fields struck out 11 and walked five as she earned the win in the circle against Knox.
Fields also led Harlan County on offense with a triple and single for two RBI. Bella Miniard drove in four runs as she doubled. Kelsie Middleton had two singles. Bell Ford had a double and scored four runs. Aniston Burton, Raegan Landa, Carmen Gamboa and Brinley Hensley added one single each.
Fields and Gamboa each had a double and single to lead Harlan County against Bell. Miniard and Landa added two singles each. Burton, Middleton and Estes contributed one single each.
Fields struck out three and walked three while giving up six runs on eight hits in the four-inning game.
