Mallory McNiel scattered nine hits over six innings but gave up only one run as Harlan rolled past Barbourville 11-1 on Monday. McNiel struck out one and walked two.
Addison Jackson drove in three runs with a triple and double to lead the Harlan offense. Ava Nunez added a double and single with two RBI. Ella Lisenbee hit a homer and scored four runs. Ella Farley had a double. Gracie Hensley, Rhileigh Estes, McNiel, Ally Kirby and Abbi Fields added one single each.
Harlan fell 21-2 on Tuesday at home against Hazard.
Estes led the Lady Dragons with a double. Fields, Lisenbee, Nunez and Jackson added singles.
McNiel suffered the loss as she gave up five runs on five hits in one inning. Fields allowed seven unearned runs in one inning. Lisenbee allowed nine runs in two-thirds of an inning. Amy Roman recorded the final out.
Rachel Howard pitched a one-hitter as Pineville coasted to an 11-1 win Tuesday over visiting Harlan County.
Lindsey Skidmore tripled for the only HCHS hit. Jade Burton had the only RBI.
Alyssa Sherman gave up seven runs (four earned) on seven hits in 2 2/3 innings, with three strikeouts and one walk. Alexis Adams allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits with four strikeouts and four walks in 3 1/3 innings.
The two teams play each other on Thursday at 5:30 at Harlan County.
