Four-run first sends Harlan County to win over Harlan
With back-to-back shots to deep center, Bella Miniard (with a two-run triple) and Raegan Landa (with a one-run triple) set the tone for Harlan County in the first inning on the way to a 4-1 win Thursday over visiting Harlan in middle school softball action.
Carmen Gamboa added two singles and the other RBI as Harlan County improved to 12-1.
Maddy Fields pitched a complete game for the Lady Bears with four strikeouts and nine walks.
Aniston Burton, Bella Ford, Miniard and Landa scored runs for Harlan County.
Chrissy Taylor, Taylor Glenn and Shaedyn Crow had hits for the 9-4 Lady Dragons.
Adelynn Burgna pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
The two teams play again Saturday at Harlan.
