Lady Dragons close regular season with win over HC
As the top two seeds into this weekend’s middle school league tournament, Harlan County and Harlan squared off for a second time in the regular season on Thursday at Harlan with the Lady Dragons avenging an earlier loss with an 8-5 victory.
Adelynn Burgan pitched a five-hitter for the Lady Dragons with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Shaedyn Crow led the Harlan offense with two singles. Taylor Glenn had a triple. Chrissy Saylor, Jordyn Shackleford, Daria Lee, Harmonee Mills and Burgan added singles.
Bella Ford led Harlan County with a triple. Bella Miniard added a double. Carmen Gamboa and Brinley Hensley had singles.
Maddy Fields pitched for the Lady Bears and struck out four while walking seven.
Harlan opens conference tournament with rout of Lynn Camp
Harlan rolled to a 14-0 win over Lynn Camp on Friday in the opening round of tournament play.
Crow led the 13-4 Lady Dragons with two singles. Lee and Burgan added doubles. Lacey Lemarr had a single.
Burgan struck out nine and walked none to claim the win in the circle.
Mills drives in four as Lady Dragons down Barbourville
Harmonee Mills drove in four runs with a double and single to power Harlan to a 16-4 three-inning win over visiting Barbourville in middle school softball action Tuesday.
Chrissy Saylor added a triple for the 11-4 Lady Dragons. Adelynn Burgan and Shaedyn Crow had singles.
Burgan pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks.
The Lady Dragons play host to Harlan County on Thursday to close the regular season.
Burgan tosses perfect game as Lady Dragons rout Middlesboro
Adelynn Burgan pitched a perfect game with seven strikeouts as Harlan rolled to a 15-0 win over Middlesboro on Monday in middle school softball action.
Lacey Lemarr led the 10-4 Lady Dragons on offense with a double and single. Karrie Gregg had a triple. Addison Campbell, Burgan, Shaedyn Crow and Brookelyn Farley added one single each.
Harlan plays host to Barbourville on Tuesday.
