A streak that stretched back almost four years ended Tuesday as Middlesboro claimed a four-set victory at Harlan.The Lady Dragons won 28-26 in a hard-fought first set before Middlesboro rallied to win 25-20, 25-21, 25-22 in the final three sets.
It was the first district win for Middlesboro since defeating Harlan County on Sept. 15, 2020. The Lady Jackets lost 28 straight district matches after that heading into the 2024 season.
Middlesboro won 21-15, 21-12 in junior varsity action.
No statistics were available for either team.
Harlan (0-2) returns to action Tuesday at Harlan County.
