Playing in only her second high school golf tournament, Harlan eighth grader Daria Lee carried on a family golfing legacy in the 13th Region All “A” Classic on Monday at the Wasioto Winds course in Pineville.
Lee, the granddaughter of the late Rodney Wilson, qualified for state competition by shooting a 62 to finish second in the tournament. Wilson was the former golf pro at the Harlan Country Club.
“I’m very proud to have Daria represent Harlan High School in the All A. I believe she is the first female from HHS to qualify and has done it as only an eighth grader,” said Harlan coach Chuck Owens.
Carson Osborne led the Harlan boys team as he shot a 48, followed by Caiden Jackson with a 52, Brody Owens with a 54 and Izaiah Lefevers with a 72.
JaLynn Pennington and Adelynn Burgan each shot a 72 for the Harlan girls.
