Sierra Crow earned win No. 1 of her volleyball coaching career Thursday as the Lady Dragons featured a balanced attack to defeat visiting Red Bird 21-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-22.
“My girls came out tonight and each one did their job,” Crow said. “The stats are proof of that. We are definitely headed in the right direction.”
Annie Hoskins led Harlan with eight aces, 11 kills, nine blocks and two digs. Kaylee Roark had three aces, eight kills, three assists and four digs. Kamryn Blanton added three aces, three kills, eight assists and two digs. Peyshaunce Wynn contributed four aces, five kills, one assist and one dig. Gracie Hensley added five aces and 11 assists. Addison Campbell had six aces, two assists and two digs. Carley Jump had four digs. Kenzie Shepherd added one dig.
Harlan won 21-16, 21-9 in junior varsity action.
The 1-3 Lady Dragons return to action Tuesday at Bell County.

Harlan County suffered its first loss of the season Thursday in a district showdown at Bell County. The Lady Cats won 25-19, 22-25, 25-23. 22-25, 15-8 to improve to
Emma Winkler led Bell with 35 digs, 16 assists, 10 kills and four service aces. Neveah Allen had 22 digs, 15 assists and four kills. Kairi Lamb added 27 digs, 28 kills, four blocks, two assists and one ace. Alexis Brown had 23 digs, four kills and five assists.
No statistics were available for Harlan County.
The 5-1 Lady Bears will play at Whitley County on Saturday in the 2A Classic. The 8-2 Lady Cats will also play in the 2A Classic.
