Harlan won two of three matches Saturday in the 13th Region All “A” Classic at Red Bird, advancing to the semifinals before falling to Barbourville,
The Lady Dragons opened with an 18-25, 25-18, 25-14 win over Red Bird. Annie Hoskins led the Lady Dragons with 15 kills, five aces, three digs and one block. Kaylee Roark had six kills, one ace and one dig. Kamryn Blanton added nine aces, 10 assists and one dig. Gracie Hensley added 11 assists, two kills and two digs. Addison Campbell chipped in with two aces, two kills and one assist. Carley Jump had five digs. Peyshaunce Wynn added one assist.
Harlan defeated Lynn Camp 25-19, 22-25, 25-13 in the quarterfinals Hoskins led with 11 kills, four aces, one block and one dig. Roark added six kills, three aces and two assists. Blanton added four aces, seven assists, two digs and one kill. Hensley had three aces, six assists and four digs. Wynn added two aces, one kill and one assist. Campbell had two kills, one assist and one dig. Jump added three digs and one assist.
The Lady Dragons dropped a hard-fought three set match to Barbourville by a score of 25-17, 24-26, 25-16. Hoskins recorded eight kills, two blocks and one dig. Roark added five kills, four aces, three digs and one block. Blanton had seven assists, three digs, two aces and one kill. Hensley contributed eight assists, two digs, two aces and one kill. Wynn added one ace, one kill, one assist and one dig. Campbell had one ace, one kill and one dig. Jump added six digs.
“It was a long day for my girls. I am proud of them for pushing through and making it to the semifinals,” Harlan coach Sierra Crow said. “They ended the day with two wins and one loss and that’s nothing to hang their heads about. Their stats are improving and so is their record. We are moving in the right direction.”
Harlan plays Pineville on Thursday and travels to Hazard on Saturday.

Harlan County overcame a slow start to win 21-25, 25-23, 25-9, 25-17 at Lee, Va., on Monday.
Kylee Hoiska led the Lady Bears with nine aces, 20 digs, 15 kills and one assist. Kalista Dunn added 20 digs, 15 kills, two aces and one assist. Savannah Hill had 36 assists, with 11 digs and two kills. Ashton Evans contributed 17 digs, five aces and seven kills. Ashlynn Williamson added 20 digs. Madilynn Nolan had three blocks, two kills, two assists, one ace and one dig. Sophie Day and Karli Shoupe each had a kill and dig. Alexis Adams added two kills.

The Lady Bears battled hard for two sets before falling 25-21, 25-21, 25-16 to visiting Whitley County, the defending regional champs, on Tuesday.
Dunn led the Lady Bears with 15 digs, seven kills and one ace. Evans added 15 digs and nine kills. Hoiska had 12 digs, four kills, two aces, one block and one assist. Williamson chipped in with 10 digs and one ace. Hill had 18 assists, two digs, one ace and one kill. Alexis Adams added one dig and one assist. Day had one kill. Nolan added one ace.
The 8-3 Lady Bears play host to Rye Cove, Va., on Saturday at noon.
