With three freshmen reaching double digits, Harlan cracked the win column for the first time in the 2024-2025 season with a 69-53 win Tuesday at Lee, Va.
“We played hard like we have been and made some shots that we hadn’t been making,” Harlan coach Derrick Akal said. “I think that was the difference tonight.”
Kobe Noe, a freshman center, led the Dragons with 18 points, while guards Ethan Huff and Izack Saylor added 16 and 15 points, respectively.
Noe hit three 3-pointers in the opening period and scored 11 as Harlan took an 18-17 lead. The Dragons outscored Lee 23-15 in the second period as Huff scored eight and Noe added five.
Lee outscored the Dragons 14-9 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 50-46.
Saylor led Harlan with eight points in the fourth quarter as the Dragons outscored Lee 19-7.
Brynnen Pendergraft paced the Generals with 28 points.
Harlan (1-3) returns to action Friday at Somerset Christian.

Taylor McKnight scored 13 points to lead Lee to a 46-27 win in junior varsity action.
Elie Noe and Braxton Rowe led the 0-4 Dragons with seven points each. Dalton Halcomb chipped in with four. Brayden Lucas, Hunter Brock and Nate Cochran scored three each.
