A 35-point game from senior guard Maddox Huff wasn’t quite enough to help Harlan County advance in the first round of the Seahawk Holiday Classic on Friday in Hilton Head, S.C., against a talented opponent from Florida.
Harlan County fell behind 15-8 after one quarter and spent the rest of the day playing catch up before falling 71-60 to Boyd Anderson High School.
Senior center Jaycee Carter added 10 points and nine rebounds for the 5-2 Black Bears.
Harlan County played without junior guard Reggie Cottrell, who suffered an ankle injury last week in the WYMT Mountain Classic.
The Black Bears will play the loser of the Mount Lebanon, Penn., vs Sumter, S.C., game on Saturday at noon.
