A second straight bad shooting night led to a second straight loss for the Harlan County Black Bears in the Ashland Invitational Tournament. Harlan County fell 71-56 to Fleming County in the their-place game Sunday.
Seniors Bradley Robinson and Seth Hickerson each scored 18 points to lead the 9-3 Panthers. Jacob Johnson and Lucas Jolly followed with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The 8-4 Bears were led by senior guards Maddox Huff, with 23 points, and Brody Napier, with 11.
Harlan County opened the tournament with a win over Lloyd Memorial, the state’s second-ranked team, but lost standout junior guard Reggie Cottrell to an ankle injury in the game and played without him in losses to Ashland Blazer and Fleming county.
The Black Bears travel to Harlan on Thursday in a girls/boys district doubleheader.
