The Harlan County Lady Bears doubled their point total from a blowout Saturday in London but still struggled against the South Laurel pressure and fell 74-49 on Thursday.
“When we ran our press offense right we got the ball in the middle of the floor and positive things happened. We might not have scored every time but we got it up the court,” Harlan County coach Gary Green said. “When we didn’t run it correctly we had problems. We shot it better than we did Saturday. I thought there where several positive things we did tonight. We just have to continue to improve.
Sophomore guard Maci Messer scored 19 points to lead the 13-4 Lady Cardinals. Eighth grade guard Callie Jones added 16 points.
The 4-13 Lady Bears were led by eighth grade Reagan Clem with 17 points and freshman guard Kylee Runions with 11.
