Sophomore guard Braxton Keathley showed why he is one of the 15th Region’s best players Saturday, scoring 41 points as the Blackcats stayed in control all afternoon in a 78-57 win over visiting Harlan.
Kaden Allen, a senior guard, added 19 points as Prestonsburg improved to 7-8 on the season after opening the year with five straight losses.
Freshmen guards Ethan Huff and Jaxson Perry led the 3-18 Green Dragons with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Harlan returns to action Feb. 3 at home against Knox Central.

Graham Shutts hit four 3-pointers and scored 24 points as Prestonsburg edged the Dragons 47-43 in junior varsity action. Blake Waller added nine for the Blackcats, followed by Waylon Butcher with eight, Jacob Helton with four and Jose Spradlin with two.
Freshman forward Eli Noe led the 1-7 Dragons with 16 points. Braxton Rowe chipped in with seven points. Hunter Brock and Dalton Halcomb added six each. Gibson Wilder scored five. Caden Mefford contributed three.
