Led by 23 points from sophomore guard Khylea Ray Collier and 12 from sophomore forward Madisyn Hopkins, Whitley County avenged a loss earlier this month in the 2A Classic with a 58-44 win Saturday afternoon over visiting Harlan County.
The 13-6 Lady Colonels took control by outscoring HCHS 20-8 in the first quarter and stayed ahead the rest of the way.
Reagan Clem led the Lady Bears with nine points. Taylynn Napier added eight.
Harlan County (4-14) plays host to Bell County on Tuesday in a girls/boys district doubleheader.

Raegan Landa scored 16 points and Vanessa Griffith added 10 as Harlan County improved to 7-2 in junior varsity action with a 37-33 win.
Brooke Haywood tossed five for the Lady Bears. Taylynn Napier scored four. Kenadee Sturgill chipped in with two.
Isabelle Smiddy scored nine, Aubrey Fore tossed in seven and Jaylee Cox added five for the Lady Colonels. Kristen Siler, Arabella Clemens and Mackenzie Mills contributed four each.
