One night after watching their five-game win streak come to an end against Knox Central, the Harlan Lady Dragons started another one Tuesday with an 80-69 victory over visiting Leslie County.
The Lady Dragons’ offensive surge continued in the win as four reached double figures, led by senior forward Kylie Noe with 26 points. Aymanni Wynn and Peyshaunce Wynn each scored 19. Cheyenne Rhymer added 11.
“Our offense is flowing. It’s hard to beat someone when they have four in double digits,” Harlan coach Mackenzie Varner said. “But we can’t give up as many points as we’ve been giving up,”
Junior guard Ava Napier poured in 26 points for the 9-16 Lady Eagles. Lexi Wilson and Peyton Turner added 15 and 12 points, respectively.
“It was a different-paced game,” Varner said. “That team plays kind of similar to Harlan County, so I think that was good to see them now going into Friday.”
The 16-12 Lady Dragons travel to Harlan County on Friday and close their regular season schedule Tuesday at home against Corbin.
