Redskins edge Leslie County in middle school baseball
Cumberland ran its record to 2-0 in middle school baseball action with an 11-10 win Wednesday over Leslie County.
Brayan Perez led the Redskins on offense with a triple and single. Hunter Fuson, Tobey Lunsford and Nathan Harrell each had singles.
Brycen Saylor pitched four innings with five strikeouts.
Boggs pitches perfect game as Lady Skins roll
Lexi Boggs pitched a perfect game with eight strikeouts in eight innings as the Cumberland Lady Skins opened their middle school season with a 19-0 win over visiting Barbourville on Monday.
Sienna Banks had an inside-the-park homer and double with four RBI to lead the Cumberland offense. Lilly Scott added a double. Lilly Blair, Boggs, Lindsey Burton, Kennedy Austin, Natalie Pendleton and Julionna Johnson had singles.
Cumberland returns to action Thursday against Bell County.
