Landa’s double sends Lady Bears past Knox

A two-run double by Raegan Landa sent Harlan County to an 8-7 win in seven innings over visiting Knox Central on Thursday in middle school softball action.
Landa led the Harlan County offense with a triple, double and single and three RBI. Bella Ford added a double and single. Bella Miniard, Jaylin Robinson, Kelsie Middleton, Zoey Reed and Kennedy Estes had one single each.
Maddy Fields pitched a complete game, giving up seven runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and five walks.

Lady Skins roll to victory over Bell County

Lexi Boggs and Izzy Pendleton teamed to give up only one run over three innings as Cumberland rolled to a 19-1 win over Bell County in middle school softball action Thursday. Boggs struck out two and walked two in two innings. Pendleton struck out one and walked none in one inning.
Sienna Banks led Cumberland on offense with an inside-the-park homer and single. Katie Smith had a double and single. Julionna Johnson added two singles. Pendleton had a triple. Lilly Scott added a double. Lilly Blair and Boggs had one single each.
