
Evarts faced off against James A. Cawood in elementary soccer to begin our Saturday. The game was all decided in the first half, with JACES outscoring Evarts 3-0. To start the changes to the scoreboard, Leah Collins found the net with 8:02 remaining. Collins found the goal again seven minutes later. With one second remaining in the first half, Carson Kazy found himself a goal.
In middle school action, Evarts took on James A. Cawood. Joe Wright led James A. Cawood to a win, scoring all three points for his team, final score 3-2 for James A. Cawood. With 23:48 on the clock Wright found his first point in the contest to put JACES up 1-0. Due to handling within the penalty area, Evarts was awarded with a penalty kick. Jace Hensley took the shot, putting Evarts on the board. There was not anymore scoring until the second half, when J. Wright found his second goal with just a couple minutes of play to give James A. Cawood a 2-1 lead. Jessie Pendergrass answered that goal at the 24:54 mark, updating the score to 2-2. Wright found his final point at the 20:58 mark, putting James A. Cawood up 3-2.
In elementary play, Wallins met Black Mountain on the pitch. WES won with a score of 2-0. The first score of the match came from Braylin Brock with 9:22 to play in the first half. At the 8:29 mark, Jace Sargent found the back of the net for Wallins.
In the next middle school matchup, Wallins put the mercy rule on Black Mountain, winning 8-0. To begin the scoring onslaught, Mason Howard hit a goal less than two minutes into play. M. Howard made another goal with 25:13 to play. M. Howard scored again with 16:45 left in the first half. Bryson Robbins tacked on another point for Wallins with 13:23 to play. With 4:44 left in the first half, Leslie Pitts scored, which would eventually end the half 5-0. Less than two minutes into the second half, B. Robbins found the goal again. M. Howard scored the final two goals at 22:31 and 21:35.
In the final match for this Saturday, Cumberland met Rosspoint on the pitch for a middle school matchup. Cumberland defeated Rosspoint 4-1. In a very competitive first half, Hutton Sherman found the goal first at the 11:21 mark. Jacob Brock answered that point for Rosspoint with 6:10 to play in the first half to make it 1-1. Coming into the second half, Jake Cornett put Cumberland up 2-1 with less than two minutes of play. At 21:38, Zack Smith put another point for Cumberland. Z. Cornett found the goal once more with 16:57 to play in the second half. That would be the final goal made.
