After falling in a 5-4 heartbreaker earlier in the week against North Laurel, the Harlan County Lady Bears bounced back Thursday with a 7-2 win over visiting Middlesboro. The HCHS boys edged Middlesboro 5-4.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our kids. This has been a hard fought week for them. The girls battled tooth and nail and almost pulled one out against a regional monster in North Laurel. That was probably the best match I’ve seen in a long time and that says a lot to the work our kids put in,” Harlan County coach Caleb Bailey said. “We came into the match today against Middlesboro focusing on getting back on track before spring break, and they did just that. The boys played much better today. The sky is the limit if they put their mind to it. I’m very proud of the results this week.”
Harlan County returns to action April 15 at home against Bell County.
