Cooper’s 3-run blast propels Bears past Harlan in middle school baseball
With his Harlan County team locked in a 2-2 tie against visiting Harlan on Monday in middle school baseball action, Win Cooper turned the momentum squarely in the Bears’ favor with a three-run blast over the fence in left field that sent HC to an 8-2 win.
Andrew Vance also had a big day at the plate with two doubles and a single. Myles Jenkins added two singles. Bryson Kelly and Carter Caldwell had one single each.
Gabriel Helton earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts.
Brody Brock and Brantley McArthur led Harlan at the plate with two singles each. Cooper Thomas, Zach Boggs, Derrick Holman and Nate Thomas chipped in with one single each.
Holman struck out three in two innings on the mound. Brock struck out three in three innings.
