For a potent Harlan offense that produced 38 runs in the first two rounds of the 13th Region All “A” Classic, Jackson County senior Candice Williams has become the Lady Dragons’ kryptonite.
Williams, who eliminated the Lady Dragons in last year’s 13th Region Tournament in a 5-2 win, tossed a five-hitter Tuesday with 13 strikeouts and four walks in Jackson County’s 6-1 win in the finals of the regional All “A” tournament.
Ella Lisenbee led the Lady Dragons with two singles. Ella Farley, Ava Nunez and Gracie Hensley added one single each.
Lexi Brockman homered twice and drove in three runs for Jackson County. Kylie Moore also had a homer with three RBI.
The 6-8 Lady Generals play at Breathitt County on Thursday. The 8-4 Lady Dragons play at Knott Central on Friday.
