
Clutch hits were impossible to find for the Harlan Lady Dragons in a one-run loss Tuesday at home against Harlan County.
They found them Thursday, rallying from a one-run deficit in the seventh inning to win 5-4 at Middlesboro. Ella Lisenbee opened the inning with a homer, then Raegan Goodman came through with a two-out triple to drive home Ava Nunez with the go-ahead run.
Lisenbee led the Lady Dragons’ 11-hit attack with a homer and three singles with three RBI and two runs scored. Addison Jackson singled twice. Goodman had a triple, and Jordyn Smith doubled. Nunez and Abbi Fields had singles.
Smith pitched a complete game, giving up four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Abney Allen led the Lady Jackets with a double and single and two runs scored. Addison Lawson had a home run. Addison Lucas, Jenna Baker and Keevi Betts had singles.
Kenna Lawson allowed two runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk in 2 1/3 innings. Lawson allowed three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk in 4 1/3 innings.
The 10-5 Lady Dragons travel to Knox Central on Monday. The 5-13 Lady Jackets play at Barbourville on Monday.
