Bears advance in league tourney with win over Bell
Harlan County advanced to the semifinals of the Upper Cumberland Middle School Baseball Conference with a 10-7 win over Bell County on Thursday at Leslie County.
Carter Caldwell led the Bears with a double and single. Andrew Vance had a double. Logan Mills, Hunter Coker, Bryson Kelly and Gabriel Helton singles.
Vance struck out two in two-plus innings on the mound. Mills struck out three and walked two in two innings.
Mason Sziksai led Bell with three singles. Ayden Smith singled twice. Dawson Griffin and Jace Miracle added one single each,.
Knox Central defeated Middlesboro in another first-round game. Harlan County will play Knox Central on Saturday at noon in the semifinals.
Cumberland will play Harlan today at 5:30 with the winner taking on Leslie County at 7:30.
