With four straight losses heading into Tuesday’s game at Whitley County, the Harlan County Lady Bears were in desperate need of a confidence boost heading into next week’s 52nd District Tournament.
HCHS sophomore Alexis Adams delivered.
Adams pitched a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts as the Lady Bears. Won 3-0. Adams overcame seven walks, working out of bases-loaded jams with one out in both the fifth and seventh innings.
Junior first baseman Halanah Shepherd led the HCHS offense with three hits. Braylen Gilley and Adams added doubles with Adams driving in two runs.
The 10-14 Lady Bears close the regular season Thursday at Clay County.
