Hazard grabbed a 5-0 lead after three innings and held on for an 8-5 victory Thursday at Harlan.
Ella Lisenbee and Abbi Fields led the Lady Dragons with two hits each. Lisenbee also walked twice and drove in three runs. Jordyn Smith, Ava Nunez and Ella Farley added one single each.
Smith gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits with one strikeout and two walks in 2 1/3 innings. Adelynn Lewis allowed three runs on five hits with one strikeout and three walks in 4 2/3 innings.
The 15-8 Lady Dragons play at home against Bell County on Monday in the game of the 52nd District Tournament.

Alexis Adams didn’t give up a hit but came up on the short end of a pitchers’ duel with Clay County’s Abby Bowling in a 2-0 loss Thursday at Clay County.
Adams struck out 11 and walked five, giving up two unearned runs. Adams had two hits and Halanah Shepherd added one for the only HCHS hits.
The 10-15 Lady Bears play Middlesboro on Monday in the 52nd District Tournament at Harlan.
