Two days after watching a win slip away in a playoff, Harlan County junior Cole Cornett coasted to a victory in the second match of the season with a one-under par 35 on Thursday at the Wasioto Winds course in Pineville.
Harlan County sophomore Carson Clark was second with a 40. Noah Ledford added a 51 and Sebastian Mosley added a 54 for HCHS.
Bell County’s Landon Powers and Mason Sziksai tied for third with Middlesboro’s Isaac Harris as all three posted a 43. Ty Mays added a 50 for Bell, followed by Rylan Hensley with a 52.
Madox Sziksai, of Bell County, won in the middle school division wit ha 44. Harlan County’s Mason Garrett was second with a 48.
Daria Lee led Harlan with a 55 with the top score for girls. Cooper Thomas shot a 60 and Tucker Sullivan had a 72.
Elliott Lane had the top middle school score for Harlan with a 51, followed by Isaiah Lefevers with a 56, T.L. Miller and Connor Thomas with 58 and Nate Thomas with a 65.
