The Harlan Lady Dragons warmed up for this weekend’s 13th Region Region All “A” Classic with a four-set win Tuesday over visiting Lynn Camp. Lynn Camp won the first set 25-21 before Harlan bounced back with 25-18, 25-12, 25-12 wins over the next three.
Gracie Hensley led the 3-8 Lady Dragons with 22 assists, three aces and one kill. Shaedyn Crow recorded 17 digs with five aces and five kills. Clarissa Yost added seven aces, seven digs and four kills. Cheyenne Childers had eight aces, five kills, four digs and one assist. Jordyn Shackleford added nine aces, seven digs and three kills. Daria Lee had five aces and four digs. Kenzie Shepherd added seven digs. Bryleigh Ward recorded nine digs. Cadence Goodie added five kills. Kinsley Sturgill and Kaylee Sturgill each had two digs. Gwen Toll added one kill.
“It was a balanced attack for us tonight,” Harlan coach Sierra Crow said. “I had girls stepping up on front line, with the absence of Peyshaunce (Wynn due to an injury). Cadence Goodie was a bright spark in the final set. I’m very proud of my girls tonight — all of them.”
Harlan won 19-21, 21-19, 21-18 in jun oor varsity action.
Crow led the Lady Dragons with 12 digs, four aces, one kill and one assist. Lee added six aces, one kill, three digs and 15 assists. Yost had three kills and three digs. Kinsley Sturgill added five aces and four digs. Kaylee Sturgill added four aces and two digs. Childers had three kills, two digs and one ace. Shackleford added one kill and two digs. Ward had two digs. Goodie added four kills. Toll had three kills.
Harlan won 21-13, 21-19 in freshman action. Lee had four aces and one dig. Kinsley Sturgill added four kills and two aces. Kaylee Sturgill had one ace and two digs. Bryleigh Ward and Ava Freeman each contributed two digs. Vivian Smith had one kill.
