The Harlan County had to fight from behind all night in a matchup of two of the 13th Region’s top teams, rallying for a 24-26, 25-18, 15-25, 25-19, 15-12 victory Tuesday at Williamsburg.
Kylee Hoiska led the Lady Bears with 19 kills, 20 digs, three aces and two blocks. Kalista Dunn added 15 kills, 23 digs, one ace and one assist. Savannah Hill had 34 assists, 13 digs, five blocks, two kills and one ace. Ashlynn Williamson added 20 digs, three aces, two assists and one kill. Karli Shoupe added 17 digs and three aces. Madi Nolan had four kills, three blocks, two assists and one dig. Sophie Day added three kills, one assist and one dig. Abigail Blackburn had one kill.
Harlan County fell 25-14, 25-18 to Corbin on Saturday at Bell County in the semifinals of the 2A Section 7 Tournament, Hoiska led the Lady Bears in kills with six, followed by Nolan with three, Blackburn with two and Dunn with one. Hill was first in assists with 10, followed by Williamson with two. Williamson was first in digs with five followed by Hill with four. Nolan, Hill and Williamson each recorded two aces. Hoiska had the only block.
The 4-2 Lady Bears will be at home Thursday in a 52nd District showdown against Bell County.
