Harlan swept a middle school football doubleheader Thursday at home, defeating Cumberland 28-8 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game and 26-20 in seventh- and eighth-grade football.
Zach Smith scored a touchdown for the Redskins. Jacob Cornett added the two-point conversion.
Kolbi Green ran for one touchdown and passed for another to lead the 6-0 Dragons in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Green started the scoring in the first quarter with a 36-yard touchdown run. Judah Shope added the two-point conversion.
Rush Luttrell scored on a 70-yard run later in the opening period. Green found Shope for the two-point conversion and a 14-0 lead.
Luttrell forced a fumble that Shope recovered in the second quarter. Green teamed with Bryson Millis for a 25-yard TD pass to push the Dragons’ lead to 22-0 at halftime.
Green and Shope teamed on a 50-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
